Military knives have evolved, and since fighting no longer takes place in trenches and man-to-man combat has been reduced to a minimum, the military knife as such has changed. It must be reliable, tough, used for defense and cutting of various materials, it can have a saw or serrated blade for fast cutting, the blade is usually blackened so that it does not shine.

The Victorinox folding army knife, which is used by the German army in addition to the Swiss army, often appears in its arsenal. The American manufacturer CRKT offers a few interesting closing models also produced for the army. Kizlyar supplies its knives in several variants to the Russian army for various units. The Swedish manufacturer Fällkniven cooperates with the Swedish army and has been supplying them with its award-winning knives for years. Another Swedish manufacturer, Morakniv, also has knives for the military in its production program. FKMD - Fox army knives, this company has been equipping NATO troops with folding knives since 2008, but also with fixed ones. In addition to firearms, the Austrian Glock produces well-known and tough knives in the shape of a bayonet, at the German manufacturer Böker (among others) we will find knives for close combat with a double-edged blade - Applegate. We should not forget the Uton army knives from the manufacturer Mikov, which were in the armament of Czeckoslovak people's army and are also used by today's air force, paratroopers, recon units in the Czech and Slovak army.
